Release Rings

Overview

The Invenias software is released in different phases and as a customer you can choose your preferred frequency. These phases are called Release Rings. Each ring presents a different level of stability and will be delivered on a different build cadence.

Rings are used to evaluate the quality of our software as it is released to progressively larger audiences. At the point we're ready for feedback on new builds, those builds will be released to the first, most frequent, ring. The build will continue to be evaluated against a set of criteria to ensure it is ready to progress to the next ring.

There are currently two Release Rings:

  • Fast Ring - usually one release every 2 weeks
  • General Availability (GA) Ring - typically one release every 4 weeks

Fast Ring

The benefit of being in the Fast Ring is that you will be among the first to use and provide feedback on new and improved features. Our software testing is as thorough as it can be - considering the many permutations of configuration - but, by participating in the Fast Ring, you should be aware that you are acting as an ‘early adopter’. This means that occasionally some issues or bugs may arise in using the new functionality. Being an early adopter is a two-way process, and when you feed back that there are challenges in the usability of the product, we will try to deal with them swiftly. Moving customers between rings is a simple process, and moving to the Fast Ring does not need to be a permanent change. If you find yourself significantly blocked, or have any other feedback, please contact us by emailing inveniassupport@bullhorn.com.

General Availability (GA) Ring

The benefit of being in the GA Ring is that you will receive less frequent updates, which have been extensively tested and used by Invenias and many other customers on the Fast Ring. Releases will therefore be less frequent, but more stable.
