How is a candidate’s score determined?
Candidate score is determined both by how frequently your search terms appear in the resume in question, as well as how frequently the terms appear in your database as a whole. For example, the word “manage” may appear in a single resume six times, but because it’s a common word and is therefore going to pop up frequently in many resumes, searching for resumes containing this word will produce candidates with all fairly average scores. Alternatively, if you search on a rarer skill, such as “jQuery,” candidates will be scored more accurately based on how many (or how few) times the term appears.
If you're viewing your candidate list without any criteria at all, and still see varying scores for your candidates, check the Users drop-down. If you have people and/or departments selected, Bullhorn will rank your candidates based on whether or not you are the owner. If no users or departments are selected, the search returns all candidates (even those owned by disabled users). These candidates will not have scores of 100% if you do not have the Edit Department, Edit Any, and Delete entitlements.
If you perform a search without keywords (e.g., all candidates in the database with a status of New Lead), even though all candidates that return will exactly match that criteria, only those that you own will have a score of 100%. To view a candidate's score percentage, roll your mouse over the blue line in the appropriate row.
