Clock Group Status

This article contains a list of statuses a clock group can be in.

Clock Group Statuses

Group Open & Clocks Open

This is the default status for the current week. All time clock transactions and administrator adjustments are allowed.

Group Open & Clocks Closed

When the current week ends, the status will automatically change to this status. Although clocks are closed, the group is not yet closed.

As the period is in the past, time clock transactions are no longer posted to employee time cards. Administrator adjustments are still allowed.

This status can be considered a 'preclose' period- a final review of time cards, transactions, and adjustments before everything is finalized and payroll is complete.

Depending on the individual configuration, the period is closed either automatically according to a scheduled time or it is closed manually by an administrator.

Group Closed & Clocks Closed

This status is one in which most transactions are no longer allowed. This group is closed and no clock time transactions can be recorded.

When the group is closed, most administrators will no longer have the ability to adjust time cards.

In most cases, the Group Closed status indicates that all payroll activity is closed and finalized.
