Before vs After Auto Aggregation in Bullhorn Reporting (Previously Canvas)

When editing or creating a filter in Bullhorn Reporting, you are presented with two options for applying that filter: Before auto aggregation and After auto aggregation. This article discusses the difference between the two options.

Before Auto Aggregation

This option will apply the filter before the data is brought into Bullhorn Reporting. This means that each row of data will be checked and filtered out before Canvas sees it and can use it for reporting.

After Auto Aggregation

This option will apply the filter after the data is brought into Bullhorn Reporting. Use this option for data where you are using summaries or measuring values. Often, applying the filter after auto aggregation will yield more results.
